My Mother's closet.
My mother's closet has a lot of clothes.
one.

two.

three.

My parents were away for the weekend, so i got free run of the house, and more amazingly, marhmee's closet.

I found an absolutely gorgeous skirt, top and scarf...
the outfit outlined..

long scarf.. soon to be beautiful bow.

buttoning details..

The skirt--

it's silk.
it's gorgeous.
it's mine for the weekend.

Unfortunately, the skirt was a size too small, but i really wanted to wear it out, so i turned it into a dress for the weekend.. hoisted it up my chest, and added a pru-ddy belt.
Changed the long top to tuck under the belt, and stripped the scarf to make a belt.. check it.
The new bowed back

dancing around.

I decided that the zip was going down the front, mostly because due to my bust, it wouldn't be able to zip up all the way up anyway. The parts that couldn't be zipped, were just tucked in, and it looked a bit like a real dress. We were in.

Also, I was looking through this fashion blog the other day, and decided that the tuck-in dress thing was totally a thing i could try pull off this thanngg with said dress. link here. the wanderer sure is on top of everything with this fashion thing.

Then, took it out to PARTAY

and we certainly did have fun.

Have a wonderful weekend, shout out what you're gettin' up to. Talk to me, i enjoy chatting to you guys.

Winter is leaving.. and so am i
So, you might think it's crazy, but down south, the winter is just leaving.. which meant that i no longer need jumpers, cardigans or stockings! Quelle dommage!
Anyway, it's ok. I'm thinking of things i can pack in my bag for next year..
THAT'S RIGHT! I GOT ACCEPTED INTO L'UNIVERSITE DE STRASBOURG EN FRANCE!
which means i am going to be spending next year in france.. which means Europe here we come! As long as i pass all my subjects this semester, as of January 2010, i will be en Europe..
16 hours across the sea.
Heaps Psyched.
So i thought i should celebrate..
Pour a glass of bubbly ladies, it's that time of year!
Anyway, i have been heaps n00b lately, and thought it was time to post another outfit wear. I went down the coast in the holidays with a group from uni, and these photos are in the church we were staying at...
Jumper: Sarah Bovis.
Stockings: Myer, pattern.
Scarf: Seibu, Japan.
T-Shirt: Mum's Closet
Shoes: Annapelle
PS. Does anyone like Lolita? It's one of my favourite books, and i just found a bookcover competition for it.. you pretty much just have to redesign the cover.. they've had some bombs over the years, so now would be the time to show what lolita's all about!
If you're a designer too, get on in there.. although there are only a few more days to go, so get that creativity out. Click here for the link!
have a wonderful weekend! x

Laundry day.
HAPPY FIRST OF JULY Y'ALL!

Well earlier this week, a friend aka mad called and wanted to catch up. I've known her about 6 years, from French classes at the Alliance Française here in sunny Sydney. For 4 years, after school, we'd meet up once a week before our after-school-lessons and catch up.

She'd also told me that our 3rd as such, would be joining us aka jess. Mad's going to Prague for half a year, and so it was good to see what she was up to before she went. It's strange. None of us-3 went to school together, yet every so often we catch up, i am likely to say that i catch up with these girls more so than i do with my actual friends from school, great, huh? (tic-tac add, anyone?)

Anyway, i dressed up for the occasion, left my phone at home, and ended up turning up an hr early, as they'd msged me they changed the time and i totes didnt know.

anyway, how've you all been?

Note: 2 months of holidays. absolute bliss, but what should i spend it on?

Happy Queen's Birthday
yo.

So today, it was a queen's birthday. That's right- A queen. Not thee queen, residing in Today's England, but another queen from history... I'm not sure why they dont change her birthday on the calendar every time a new one comes into place.  I guess it's a burden having to change the calendar every so often for it, as well as the confusing-ness of it all. alright, touché. You win government. Keep the Queen's birthday. I didn't want it changed anyway. ``humph.
Anyway, due to it being an important figure's birthday, and therefore being a public holiday (so why isn't my birthday a holiday you're asking furiously, i know, i was asking myself the same thing...) it was that time of month again to head to the MCA for the Yayoi Kusama exhibit.. It finished today, so what better day to go, right? anyway, it was special, seeing as i had to head into the city. Anything more than 20 minutes away is considered a special occasion, so you can imagine, that's a whole lot of special occasions.

here's my outfit for it..

dress`Melbourne
Stockings`The Local
Shoes` Seattle Markets
Jacket` Vintage
necklace`handmade from Japanese 100yen store cupcake and laser-cut piece from friend.

and the laydee herself..
I actually think she's a bit creepy myself, but her works are amazing. They capture things with such detail, and she has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder so her pieces are all ... mindblowing.. Although when we went, one sentence on the walls read " No artists have ever Influenced me" now personally, i dont know how this could be, seeing as nothing is ever original, just borrowed.

Anyway, here are some of the shots from today..

Outside Central Station on the train.

ritzy.
So last night i couldn't get to sleep à cause de I was window-shopping as such on 80's Purple. I've fould some pre-etty gorgeous dresses that i totes have to put on some sort of to-do list (I seem to have continous amounts of to-do lists which never really get finished...) so i can buy them while they're still well.. in existance in some form or another. Not buying a piece of clothing always ends up in the shop going out of stock, and then me having to go on E-bay to try and find that piece again, only to find some too-fashionable teen selling it for triple its price. *Damn you fashionable teen!!*

Anyway, here are my desired pieces of clothing..

Charlotte Ronson
//shiny but not. How deceiving!//

Anzevino & Florence
//I love the tulle-ish material in this dress. It's not quite soft tulle, but it is layered in such a way that i just want to eat it up then and there if i ever saw-saw it..//

Boxfresh
//arent these tights just so 80s? And matching them with heelz? excellent.//

Then i did some blog-stalking. I came across this photo on .. well again, i'm sorry.. i lost the blog [help anyone?], but i absolutely loved this outfit of Daisy Lowe. I completely missed the point of the post, something about Daisy, i was mesmerised by this tulle. Then i did some more checkin' out..

I hadn't heard blackascot before, but a fellow blogger led me to her and sure I loved this tulle dress that she'd commented on..

I then came across Vintagebella on Chictopia.. And she made her own DIY Tulle skirt. Dayymmm grrrl.. and she was all up in my face. *snap snap snap*
And so with that, I decided that i needed to bring my ol' CUE skirt out of the closet.
It's defs a favourite of mine, but at the same time, i have this dog, her name is Gwen, and she seems to always jump at me when i have it on.
Unfortunately for you gaiz, by the time i decided it was time to try out my new tripod, I was so nervous to use it.. it was dark.
WOOO! [reference to How-I-Met-Your-Mother.. anyone, anyone?]

Boots: English Dunlop
Jumper: Hand-knitted à la grand mère
Skirt: CUE
Umbrella: Best Friend-taxed.

And lastly.. I was looking around today, and did anyone want some ridiculously outrageous shoes?

Zaha Hadid combined forces with La Coste to come up with these babies. I'm not sure whether i'd wear them myself but...
